Instagram followers. We all want more of ’em, and most people will resort to some pretty interesting tactics to get them. They’ll pay for them, use robots, even create fake accounts to get them.
But my friendly suggestions for taking your Instagram level to the next level is a little less silly and certainly effective, as long as you’re not expecting miracles.
So, here we go!
Chances are, you already knew this one. There are the super popular, super general tags like #instagramhub, #picoftheday and #igers that will give you an initial bump but won’t work for you much in the long term because they’re so popular and your post will quickly get pushed down in the feed.
My recommendation: pick a few popular hashtags, then click on them in your Instagram app on your phone. It will display related hashtags that should give you additional, relevant ideas.
Have your hashtags picked out before you post. Sound like a bit more work than you’re used to? Well, it is! But you want your post to be exposed to the maximum number of people as quickly as possible after posting.

2. Comment pods
I had no idea this was a thing until recently, and I want to extend some mad props to the ladies who proposed the idea. It will work with any number of people but most people don’t go above groups of 15 because that really is a bit much.
Set up a group chat on Instagram. Every time someone posts a photo, the other members comment on the post to bump it to the top of that user’s followers’ feed.

3. Actively liking and commenting
You know that phrase, “You get what you give?” No? Here you go…
Now that I’ve bumped that out of the way (and I know that song will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day) let me say that this phrase is true in life and on Instagram. Savvy? Comment and engage with your current followers. Tell them their dogs are cute and their latte art is cool.
